GDPR, Best Copy, and You
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force on the 25th May 2018 and Best Copy is taking steps to make sure it is compliant with all the regulations. Below is a statement on how I use my client's data and client's rights in regard to their personal data.
Best Copy (Bríana Walsh) will only gather the minimal personal data necessary for the purposes of providing editorial services to clients. This data will only be used to communicate with the client and for billing purposes. This information will not be passed on to any third party without the client’s express permission. Communication data (names, email addresses, and phone numbers) will be kept for a period of 6 years from the last communication for tax purposes. Intellectual property and other client documents will be destroyed within six months' completion of the contract or earlier if the client so wishes. Clients have the right of complaint should they be unhappy with any of these criteria and retain the right to withdraw their consent at any time. Clients have the right to access their data, have inaccuracies corrected, have data erased, object to direct marketing, and restrict the processing of their information.
